I am working in Blender and worked through the OSL tutorial to get the below image and video. The image is when the hue of the sphere is at 209. The background image is made from an image I had of Kovu, a lion from Lion King. Results could’ve been better with an HDR image built for this sort of thing ,but the reflections I got in this were pretty cool compared to what the background looked like. The video shows the colors changing as the frame number changes, in line with the tutorial.
I played around with the glass shader a bit to get the below image. I changed the glass to be much less transparent and gave its own color. This greatly affected the volume shader, as the actual volume stayed the same color as the above image but the glass color overwhelms.
I made the glass more translucent, increased reflectivity, and changed the color closer to white again to get the below image:
